What's new in Sitecore 9.3

This post briefly describes some of the high level features that are in the latest major release. The major release we will be discussing is Sitecore 9.3

Now that Sitecore 9.3 has been available for multiple months, a lot of us have had time to play around with it and even implement a production solution. Some may not be so lucky, but don't worry. This is the start to a new blog series and it will cover what is new in Sitecore 9.3. Over my next few weeks, I will release multiple posts to describe new features. As I go along, I will update this blog with links to each post related to this topic.

There are too many new features and changes made in this release, so I'm not going to list them all. I will however talk about some of the highlights in this post and go into more detail in the posts coming up. If you would like to read about the changes in detail, please check out the release notes.

What's to come? Sitecore SaaS in summer of 2020

I won't go into much detail on this one since it has not been released. If you would like more detail, Sitecore Saas has a FAQ page located here. A few things I want to point out here. You may ask yourself how you can prepare. Sitecore note's in their FAQ that Horizon UI sets the foundation, which means over the next year or so, implementing Horizon UI will be beneficial to your company for the future. Sitecore Saas may very well be what the future of Sitecore looks like, as they mention they will focus on it for the next 3-5 years and adjust based on customer feedback and market demand. The last thing I would like to talk about here is how will Sitecore Solution Partner's be affected? Sitecore still wants to preserve the ability for partner's to customize solutions and will still have a prominent role in the community. Sitecore mentions that upgrades will become more efficient as well as a reduction in the need for partners to stand-up and manage infrastructure overhead. This allows partner's to focus more on development, content and experience.
