CMS

What CMS should you use? Sitecore, Episerver or Webflow?

Which CMS is right for you? I will briefly discuss high level differences and compare factors that relate to Sitecore, Episerver and Webflow. This will also help you have a better understanding on which CMS is right for you. We will discuss in detail about the differences between Sitecore, Episerver and Webflow in a later post.

Determining which content management system (CMS) is right for you comes down to a few things. By knowing your budget, timeline, requirements and how complex your website needs to be will help answer our main question. The three points help us use process of elimination to quickly discard what we don't need or can't use. Let's run through some simple examples to help you decide what CMS is right for you. The scenarios below are for someone that does not already use a CMS to manage their website or someone that is looking to switch from their current CMS to one of the three that we talk about.

I won't go into details on licensing or pricing for these products, but a brief summary for out of the box products go Sitecore, Episerver and Webflow, in that order, from most expensive to least expensive.

My website is complex and requires integration with external services or custom development

If this is you, then you can quickly rule out Webflow since custom back-end development is not an option here. This means you are left with Sitecore and Episerver. Both can easily handle complexity and integrations. The next biggest question in this scenario is budget. If you have a higher budget, Sitecore is your way to go since it comes with more features out of the box than Episerver. Episerver can still be an excellent choice here and still meet all of your needs.

Low budget and quick launch

Just because your budget is smaller, doesn't mean you have to forget quality. In fact, if implemented correctly, each product we discuss can produce the highest quality. This specific scenario will usually be the case for a small company looking to launch a new website or product(s). This also can be seen coming from non-profit organizations, individuals and sometimes even larger companies. One thing that each case listed here has in common is that they want a great website and a quick launch. Webflow is the perfect fit for this scenario. This can usually be achieved by a team of 1-2 people, which cuts down on the cost of hiring multiple developers to implement large CMS frameworks or create custom code.

Twofold offers development and implementation, along with other services related to these three products. As you can see, no matter who you are, we can achieve your goals with one of these. If you know which system you want to utilize or if you aren't sure, reach out and we will help you determine which is best for you!
